Audiologists are ear specialists. These professionals work with patients who have problems with hearing, balance, or related ear problems. Audiologists examine patients, assess results, diagnose problems, administer treatment, fit hearing aids, and counsel patients and their families on ways to listen and communicate non-verbally.

Audiologists must be licensed in all states but requirements vary by state.
